The SAAG hosted a field-based excursion on 24 & 25 September 2021 in the eastern Free State. The field excursion was a breath of fresh air to all and an overall joyous and informative experience.
The purpose of the excursion was to demonstrate the rich geomorphological diversity of the area, to provide insights into geomorphic processes and potential human impacts, and to facilitate further in-field discussions on the landscapes of the area. Further information, references, and photographs for all sites are available in the excursion field guide, which was graciously compiled and made available to us by Paul Sumner, Piet-Louis Grudling, Werner Nel and any other contributors.
