Join us for our pre-conference excursion

The excursion is a full-day guided self-drive through the Swartberg Circuit, covering the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert and returning via Meiringspoort. This journey showcases stunning geological features and is organized with WiSH, an INQUA funded project. Mark your calendars for the 15th of July, as this is an adventure you won't want to miss.

This self-travel, self-catering venture will have a guide accompanying you, but participants must arrange their own travel, accommodation, and meals, with the exception of a packed lunch that will be provided. Throughout the day, attendees can look forward to engaging talks, offering insights into the unique geological aspects of the region. Please note that attendees are responsible for their own entrance fees (as applicable), and to facilitate communication, a WhatsApp group will be established. It is also important to avoid night driving due to poor road conditions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

The cost for this exciting excursion is R130 per person, which includes the packed lunch. For those interested, there is also an optional color booklet guide available for an additional R100.
