Opportunity to become involved in the mentorship programme under SACNASP

Dear SAAG members! Please see the message received from the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), of which SAAG is a voluntary association (VA). SACNASP is offering support for institutions that are willing to become involved in mentorship programmes. While SAAG is unable to coordinate this initiative at the moment, perhaps one of you would be interested? The original message from SACNASP appears below. Deadline has been extended to 6 March.

Message from SACNASP

The South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is offering support to accredited voluntary associations (VAs) for the implementation of the candidate mentoring phase (CMP) programme for natural science graduates. The overall aim of the CMP programme is to equip mentees with the tools necessary to perform to their highest capability, assist mentees to identify and achieve career development and personal growth goals that support business objectives. For the successful implementation of the CMP programme, SACNASP requires the support of the VAs in terms of delivering a customised mentorship programme for a period of 12-months. The proposed approach involves supporting a total of 100 candidate natural scientists (Cand. Sci. Nat.) for the duration 12-months. The deadline for submitting proposals is Wednesday, 6 March 2020. Submissions received after this date will not be considered. All successful applicants will receive feedback regarding the selection committee’s decision.

Please direct all enquiries and replies to Mrs Sarah van Aardt (Operations Manager) at svanaardt@sacnasp.org.za or Dr Matshidiso Matabane at mbmatabane@sacnasp.org.za.
