Contribute your geomorphology online learning exercises to this community effort

Due to Covid-19, many of us have had to convert field-based or lab-based exercises to the online learning environment. Since this can be a time-consuming process, Dr. Manny Gabet from the San Jose State University is driving a community effort to collect exercises that can be shared. The idea is that everyone who contributes an online exercise will have access to all of the others. The aim is to collect contributions on a wide variety of topics such that any instructor who submits one will then have access to an entire semester’s worth of exercises.

Exercises should conform to the following:

  • The level of the exercises should be appropriate for geology and geography majors in an undergraduate process geomorphology course.

  • Exercises should be self-explanatory to minimize prep time for the instructors.

  • Format the materials according to some uniform standard.

  • The use of Google Earth is encouraged since that’s the closest to an online field experience.
