Publishing workshop - deadline for applications 9 August

The 6th publishing workshop, organised by the SSAG, will be held on 9 September, directly after the SSAG/SAAG Joint Conference, to be held 6-8 September. The workshop draws emerging scholars together with senior colleagues to share experience in publishing and to provide feedback on a draft paper that each participant has prepared.

The workshop is open to any scholar, particularly emerging career researchers (ECRs) with a draft paper on a Geography-related theme who would like to benefit from this engagement. To participate in the workshop, emerging researchers will need to:

  • Provide a draft paper of up to 8 000 words to the organizer by 25 August. The paper should include an abstract with the article, and the details of the journal to which the paper will be submitted.

  • Participate in the workshop fully and actively (by reading and commenting on all papers).

  • Submit the paper to the target journal for publication in six months following the workshop either to an accredited journal or to an edited volume.

Application

  • Submit a letter of interest, indicating your current institutional affiliation.

  • Submit your CV.

  • Submit a title, abstract, and target journal you wish to submit to.

  • Send all application materials to Adrian Nel (nela@ukzn.ac.za).

More details are available in the attached document.
